Introducing My Blogging Site

This blogging corner basically contains my earnest writings on limited subjects that may not necessarily interest my blog readers. Many are written in tune to the situations then and there are also articles that has seen the light of this blog and many of which are written on frequent occasions when some feelings and emotions erupts and blushes out unnaturally.

This blog is my personal page, basically a tribute to many wonderful teachers I met during almost 18 years of my schooling as I am able to write through their effort and guidance for all these good years. So these write-ups may not reflect any serious thoughts rather all are reflection of myself and the world within which i live and operate my simple life. I admit that my writings are not very well structured and lacks a solid construction for most.

Yet amidst all these backwardness in me, I at least get mentally satisfied when my thoughts are written and inscribed. I do not know why I am doing it but more often than not I land up writing very useless notes. However, my corpus and these scribbling would remain a “swansong” and perhaps as a greatest contribution to my hard life.

With Love and Rememberance

It is with immense pleasure that I take this very privilege to note and it is due to our past common karmic force that we are born to the same parents. Indeed I am very much elated and proud to have brothers and sisters like you all with great simplicity and a sense of fraternity and sisterhood much stronger and intricately woven.

Though born to a same family, we haven’t had spent our times together for long because we were separated for the reasons that could not be controlled. Perhaps we may be the largest  and a poor family because of which the need of every child could not be satisfied.

We live in different places and start different life doing different things but out of sight won’t be out of mind. Though we are physically apart from each other but you all will always remain in my heart in full glory. I assure my fullest support during the times of your need to the extent that I can deliver and hope you all can do the same.

To Tshering Tashi and Tenzin Wangdi, you are one of the luckiest amongst us and be reminded yourself of the amount of trust that your loving parents and we all have on you and do not slice their hearts please. I mean, be a dedicated and committed dharma practitioner till the end of your fruitful life so that you do not have the regrets later. I have all the hope that you grow with dharma purifying yourself mentally which ultimately benefit yourself and other beings as well.

To those studying, be reminded of the amount of suffering that your poor parents have to go through to give you education and the sacrifices that they have made for you all. By this very fact, you all cannot afford to waste your life and if you do so you are wasting the hard earned income of your poor parents-burning the hard earned income with which you have been supported and given education even under such dire circumstances. Your indefatigable efforts made to excel in education will certainly be rewarded as surely as the dawn follows the dusk. Whether you make it or break it, it all depends on you; we are the architect of our own life.

I also assure my fullest support and hopefully, you all progress along satisfying both yourself and your parents. Even if you cannot assist your parents, at least do not demoralize and dampen their spirit by doing nasty things that potentially defame your parents and ultimately ruin yourselves too. I have heard and seen with my own eyes few people snatching away the properties and belongings of their immediate family members, also there are people who create misunderstanding amongst closest friends, relatives and neighbors but let us not follow their precedence rather let us keep our ties crystal clear, pure and rich in our hearts.

To brother, I know the amount of sacrifices that you and your family have made for my education and candidly, had there been no person like you to support, I would have been suffering to death. It was under your full auspices that I reached at this level today. As much as I owe to mum and dad, I am grateful to you too. Thank you brother and your family. Really, you have given me the light.

Anyway, hope you all would start a well established life one day and my only hope as a brother would be to see you all as good sons and daughters to the poor parents and see you start a new and fresh life burying all the oddities and struggles you have undergone. Let us renew our efforts to keep our family ties much alive and robust not only during our times but also inculcate the same to our children and the generations to come.

Our experience, our life as a Banker

The noise of tellers calling the token, murmurs of people eagerly waiting for their turns and hundreds of people coming in and going out now and then best describes the bank and her environment in which the bankers have to patiently carry out their every day duties that is tiring, demanding and risky.

Any offices is supposedly to be quite and calm but then to be working in a bank, the work environment is not very conducive coupled with exhausting work every day. As we grapple with providing customer service at the best of our ability, quite often we land up scuffling with few undisciplined people who visit us and we are faced with mounting challenges so much so that sometimes in addressing the issues, complaint is the only reward at the end of taxing work all the day long. Nonetheless, we give our best to ensure that the services that are being delivered do not get compromised as it will be the survival of the fittest in this ever competitively growing financial market.

There are lots of sacrifices to be made, health and safety concerns to be adjusted especially to work in an environment that is noise polluting,  fallacious complaints against us to be endured and misunderstanding to be resolved as a banker. We are always busy and the worst part of it is even difficult to find time to read newspapers so as to keep ourselves abreast of the latest happenings, attend to the immediate needs of our family, go for check up to hospital and many other unending lists of inconveniences and discomforts.

However, the only reward for year-long hardships borne passionately by the bankers is at the end of the year with bonus and that too subject to the board decision. On the day the amount of minimal and hard-earned bonus is declared for the bankers, it is truly a matter of great relief but it only reminds that we have to struggle again for the year. At the end of the day, we are drowned in exhaustion only to continue the next day the same monotonous and tiring work. And this cycle never ends unless we choose not to be the banker. To be a banker, is burdensome and chancy but then the statement that ‘the grass on the other side is always greener’ would perhaps stand true. We are never truly satisfied rather we look for more though we have enough.

Congratulation Guys..

It could be considered as one of the most inspiring and memorable for every one of us who have been recruited to the BoB and having remarkably joined the BoBL family, we are greatly pleased and committed to work in better and in a professional way to take BoBl to the much greater heights. We have joined BoBl the then appropriately known and considered as the “sleeping giant” at a time when BoBl in her history is changing-enabling BoBl to be the real part of the digital and computerized world. Hope this very transition in her history brings and result into win-win situation for both BOBL and its clients than ever before.  Hopefully our coincidence makes the difference.

Every one of us is immensely proud not because of joining BoBL, one of the oldest and perhaps the biggest financial institution in Bhutan but largely because of the rigorousness of the selection process.

New recruits to BoBL in 2010
I strongly believe that you all can do and incredibly contribute to the success of the Bank of Bhutan while at the same time shaping you to be the perfect banker sometime in the future. You all are selected for it and you all can definitely do it!! Nevertheless, our career does not end here if you are not really satisfied especially in this ever growing financial market we can always hop to other. But if you understand the beauty of banking, then banking or the corporate world can be the perfect platform to make and climb up the career path. Always remember that the grass on the other side will be always greener. Let us be reminded that BoBl just can’t succeed if we as an employee fail in our duty. Let us redouble our efforts and make our career in BoBl very enriching and enlightening.

As we start our career with BoBL, hope everyone of us will fully commit and reach to the apex career point in the corporate sectors. Congratulations again for your great and incredible achievement! I have no doubt in your capability and any way I wish you all the very best and let us together contribute to the success of BoBL. May you all spent a meaningful and live a glorious life in BoBL!

Dharmic standpoint on consumption of Alcohol, Tobacco and Drugs

We need to be constantly reminded by the doctors and health workers not to consume alcohol, drugs, tobacco and other harmful substances due to their damaging nature, but also from a religious point of view, consumption of such product is strictly not encouraged since it is chiefly considered as a dharma destroyer.

In relation to this, I make a small effort to just share and remind all the fellow beings and those who indulges in such activities in particular with an intention to make them aware of the substances that they consume from dharmic standpoint through the following thought-provoking story from Guru Rinpoche’s biography as told during one of Garab Rinpoche’s teachings in the east.

During the time when Buddha after his total enlightenment began expounding his truthful teachings, there happened to be good number of egoistic demons. However powerful the demonic forces were, every plan they had and every conspiracy they hatched, they weren’t actually successful to kill and even to cause a slightest harm to Buddha.

And it so happened, the demons after reaching to a common consensus if unable to kill and destroy the Buddha himself, planned to cause harm to his teachings- the Buddha dharma. Therefore, every demon through their burning mouth released the wicked insect-like creature into the ground and prayed that one day to spring up and cause harm to the Buddha dharma. Consequently, through that sprout, whatever people consume through the sprout of the evil seed in the form of liquid, it is said that it turned into alcohol, in the form of flour, turned into tobacco and in the form of smoke, it turned into what we call, cigarette.

It is irrevocably believed that the seed of these harmful substances were sown by the demons to impede the growth to today’s flourishing Buddha dharma. Hence, the consumption of these substances especially in Buddhist kingdom like ours by the so called Buddhist people is in any way unjustifiable and against the fundamental precepts of the Buddha dharma.

Therefore, consumption of substances in any form-alcohol, tobacco and drugs will not only cause health complications and jeopardize our precious human life but most importantly they are main activities that potentially bring tremendous disgrace and undermines to the spread of Buddha dharma. So if you are truly the follower of Buddha, let us 'SAY NO' and remain free from these substances.

The first ever joint Convocation

Receiving Degree Certificate from HM

As we celebrate the convocation with all the graduates of 9 out of 11 member colleges under the Royal University of Bhutan, the very first of its kind in the history of RUB, it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction for every individual taking part in this great and perhaps, an unforgettable event in our life.

At YDF basketball court

I am greatly honored to receive degree certificate which for most of us, is one of the greatest achievement in our life personally from our loving and caring Majesty. It was a day to actually mark the long painful years that most of us has endured during the entire period of our schooling until our graduation with a sense of achievement and jubilation. Very candidly, there wasn’t any day as much profound and memorable as it is today. I thank His Majesty for his time and concern while on the other hand, I would also like to thank RUB who actually made this event happen with all splendor.

Nevertheless, it is a life-long opportunity for many of us to individually have a snapshot with His Majesty which in itself is the reflection of how great the opportunity is. It was also the moment of togetherness with all the university graduates and with our friends with whom we have shared our life once upon a time with. This very day shall remain as one of the brightest part of my memory ever.

Goodwill Message for the Royal Wedding

The much awaited day has finally come and every Bhutanese in nook and corner is expressing their true sense of happiness for the overwhelmingly special event of royal wedding. As we witness the wedding of our great and compassionate king with ever charming and equally compassionate bride Azhi Jetsuen Pema, which can be perhaps the most impressive event that we will ever witness in our life time, we are sure that the warmth of their love and unwavering dedication pervades every nook and corner and may their trustful relationship be an exemplary step and built up a stronger sense of togetherness between the couples. We offer our sincere and great prayers from the depth our heart to the royal bride and bridegroom for their long and prosperous life and ultimately for happier Bhutan.

We may not be that fortunate enough and live that too long to witness yet another royal wedding so I am fully satisfied that I have witnessed the wedding of the royal king of my life. Getting an opportunity to participate in the dance and song that is thoughtfully composed with great meaning and insights by his eminence the Jekhen purposefully for the wedding perchance, we the dance performing group under DHI are as equally fortunate as others who have given their best of the best wishes and prayers through this great song. I thank DHI and particularly the BoBL management for making me a real part of this very momentous and indelible event that will ever come in my life.

I on behalf of BOBL family and personally on my own behalf, offer our following goodwill message to our royal couples.

Royal Couple during the wedding ceremony in Punakha
I  join all Bhutanese in every nook and corner and many other international well-wishers in wishing the perfectly wedded couples, a very happy relation and a happier Bhutan burying all the misfortunes that has sadly struck our nation in the past. As you formally wed with all grandness, this very day will be remarkably earmarked in our history and there wasn’t any day much profound and enriching as it is today.  May you live long enjoying the warmth of each other, rule the nation under the able guidance of our stunning Royal bride and may we too enjoy the same warmth of young and caring couples. Now, our only fervent hope will be to wait for an extraordinary birth of Royal Heir for the continuity of the erstwhile Wangchuk dynasty.”

Long live the royal couples and happy Bhutan ever after!
